Antonio Sequeira is a 28 year-old London-based Portuguese Writer/Director, whose films have received multiple awards internationally, being selected to Academy Award Qualifying festivals like 'Austin Film Fest', ‘Encounters Film Festival’, ‘Short Shorts Film Festival’, ‘Camerimage Film Festival’ and BAFTA Qualifying like ‘Norwich Film Festival’, ‘Bolton Film Festival’, among others.
In 2020, Antonio graduated from an MA at the London Film School, where he received a BFI/Creative Skillset scholarship to attend. While studying, Antonio won a funding prize to shoot a short film to promote positive mental health, which then won the Grand Prix at “FEST-New Directors” and was selected by “Close-up Culture” as one of the best short films of 2019, amongst other awards.
As a writer, he sold a feature film script to Portuguese film studio, CINEMATE and started a Development Deal with Flynn Studios on a feature film project, entitled “Angel Boy”. In 2020, he directed "Instaverse", a mini TV-series for the National Portuguese Channel “RTP”, now available on their streaming platform, RTP PLAY, having been nominated as Best National Series in Streaming by "Fantastic Awards". ‘Autumn’/'A Minha Casinha' is his debut feature based on a script that was developed with the aid of the Torino Film Lab and was a finalist at the Sundance Development Lab. A british/portuguese co-production, it was selected as a work-in-progress to First Cut Lab and to the section "Goes to Cannes" of the Festival of Cannes.
