"The Vacation House" was Antonio Sequeira's first feature film, made in Maia, Portugal, with a budget of only 1000 euros, which he had saved throughout the year, when he was seventeen. It's a 90-minute horror film whose story develops mostly in one-two locations.
The story represents the lives of children of separate parents, in which six teenagers are constantly in conflict, due to internal problems and difficulties dealing with their feelings. With the goal of improving their relationships, they are sent to a vacation house for one weekend. However, there is something very strange with the house. In the first night, when they decide to tell horror stories, something unexpected happens, because these become reality and they start to die in the same way of the characters in their horror stories. To survive, they need to remain together, while they realize that the truth hidden in the house is way darker and scary than what they could have ever imagined.
